Danser le ciel, new album, available now!

March 25, 2022

am  very pleased to announce the release of a new album, Danser le ciel (Dance the sky), available March 25.  Several years ago I performed with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra in a program that included several of my better known songs.  The reaction was overwhelming and that evening was the genesis of this project in which I explore my repertoire accompanied by a chamber orchestra.  Boris Petrowski signed the arrangements.  I asked Boris to treat the songs with elegance but also to explore the harmonic landscape without restraint.  I am very proud of the result.  Although the melodies are the same, Boris’ adventurous and daring approach has created what are in effect new songs.

I did not want to do only reprises, and the album includes two new songs : My Louisianne, an anthem inspired by the Bayou State, co-written by my friends Tommy Delhomme and Steve Camos.  And Danser le ciel, the title song, dedicated to the memory of my mother, Marie-Pauline who passed at the age of 99 in January, 2021.

Remastered versions MIGRATION & WOMEN IN THE ROOM

september 15, 2023

Available for the first time digitally, two albums remastered and rescued from limbo: MIGRATION and WOMEN IN THE ROOM.

MIGRATION remains for me an important album: my first recorded in Montreal and my very first “gold record”.  Including the classic version of the hit single L’arbre est dans ses feuilles.  This album was a “migration” in many ways.
Not only my first album recorded outside of Louisiana, but also an exploration of another musical universe.  We were definitely in the 1970s.

WOMEN IN THE ROOM is my third album from my “American period”.  Recorded in my garage, it was a return to the exuberant style of Louisiana dance hall music.

Including the original version Who Stole My Monkey and an acapella version of the oldest song in the traditional Louisiana French repertoire, Aux Natchitoches.
